NEWS UPDATE Miller-Valentine Group and Gem Real Estate Group to Merge Their Dayton Brokerage, Leasing and Property Management Functions

Miller-Valentine + Gem Real Estate GroupMiller-Valentine Group and Gem Real Estate Group are combining their property management, brokerage and leasing services groups in a move that will create the Dayton region’s largest commercial real estate company.

Miller-Valentine Group’s construction, development and residential businesses and Gem Real Estate’s Advisory Services business will not be affected by this transaction.

Ed Blake, Senior Partner of Miller-Valentine Group, said, “This is a terrific day for our two companies. Our clients will reap the benefits of being able to draw on more resources and more expertise for their leasing, brokerage and property management objectives by combining two top-notch veteran providers.”

Dave Dickerson, President, CEO of Gem Real Estate Group said, “Miller-Valentine Group is a respected, innovative leader in our industry; this will be a great new collaboration for me and all of the Gem Associates.”

Dickerson will serve as President, Real Estate Services overseeing property management, brokerage and leasing services for the Miller-Valentine Group portfolio of approximately 7 million square feet of office and industrial space. Dickerson will also continue to serve as President of the Gem Real Estate Group overseeing all consulting and appraisal services.

Blake and Dickerson agree that consolidation of services is a trend in the commercial real estate industry; and it’s a trend that has benefits for all parties. Clients of these firms find that they have access to a broader audience of buyers or sellers when they either have space for lease or sale.

Blake emphasized another important element of the affiliation is that both companies have a long-time commitment to the area and this move allows for a continued focus on the Greater Miami Valley area. In 2013, Miller-Valentine Group will mark 50 years in business and Gem Real Estate Group will mark 20 years.
