Salem Heights, Trotwood, OH

Architect: James C. Hawthorn

Miller-Valentine Commercial Construction is the Design/Build Contractor on the Salem Heights Renovation project for the Sisters of the Precious Blood.  The existing 100,000 SF facility, spread out over five wings off a central rotunda with 3-4 floors each, has served as the Motherhouse for retired Sisters from the Order since the late 1920s.  This interior renovation project will convert approximately 100 dormitory style units to 51 full apartment units with a mix of efficiency, one- and two-bedroom layouts.  Associated renovations will also be made to the affected common areas.  The Sisters will continue to occupy the facility throughout the renovations, requiring the project be divided into four phases.  Construction commenced in late March 2012 and will conclude in August 2013.

Heidelberg Distributing Company, Columbus, OH

Architect: GBBN Architects

Miller-Valentine Commercial Construction continues its long history with Heidelberg Distributing with the completion of an addition to its existing facility in Columbus, Ohio.  A 64,000 SF tilt-up concrete warehouse addition was added onto Heidelberg’s existing 101,000 SF warehouse/office facility originally constructed by Miller-Valentine in 1999.  The addition provided additional high-pile storage space supporting this facility’s beer and wine distribution business.  It also included the built-out of a new 8,000 SF beer cooler within the addition.  This project marks the second consecutive year of work for Miller-Valentine at this facility after just completing a major interior renovation and expansion of the existing office spaces in 2011, a testament to the great relationship between Heidelberg and Miller-Valentine Commercial Construction.
