Miller-Valentine Group Announces First Major Tenant
for Mission Point Office Park
Dayton, Ohio (September 1, 2009) -Miller-Valentine Group announced today that DRS Intelligence and Avionics Solutions has signed on to be the first major tenant at the company's new Mission Point office park. Mission Point, located just outside the gates of Area-B at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), is being developed by Miller-Valentine Group to serve as the center of the defense contractor community in the greater Dayton region.
"Mission Point offers unparalleled access to the growing base facilities," said Michael Greitzer, partner and president, Dayton Market for Miller-Valentine Group. "We are excited that DRS IAS shares our vision for Mission Point and has decided to locate their office here."
"We are very pleased to move our Dayton operations into this brand new facility that not only encourages a productive workplace, but in time, will be an energized area and ready to expand our ties with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base," said Gerry Butler, vice president and general manager of DRS Intelligence and Aviation Solutions.
Mission Point is a 134-acre mixed use campus that will eventually feature 800,000 square feet of professional office, research and technology space. Plans for Mission Point also call for service retail, restaurants, a hotel and meeting center - all purposefully planned around walking trails, green space and pocket parks.
The first building at Mission Point, where DRS IAS will be located, is at 2601 Mission Point Boulevard. The building is the greater Dayton region's first speculative state-of-the-art LEED certified building.
DRS expects to occupy approximately 46,000 square feet of the 90,000 square-foot building. The lease represents one of the largest leases for Miller-Valentine Group in recent years. Miller-Valentine Group is customizing the space to DRS' specifications; occupancy is expected in the first quarter of 2010.
