Miller-Valentine Group Announces Key Executives and Project Managers
Receive LEED Certification
Columbia, SC- September 29, 2009 - Four members of Miller-Valentine's senior management staff recently received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification, also known as LEED. Kurt Eyring, partner/vice president of construction and senior project managers Doug Putlock, Jon Brockman and Brooks Williams have become accredited professionals as designated by the United States Green Building Council, by passing the LEED AP exam on sustainable design and the LEED process. "Our client's interest in energy efficient design and environmental issues continues to grow," says Kurt Eyring. "It's rare to find general contractors with LEED certified associates on staff, but it demonstrates Miller-Valentine's focus and commitment to meeting our clients design/build projects needs. The knowledge base of our LEEP AP staff also allows us to interact and connect with architects and designers at a new level."
LEED is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings' performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
