Wright State Physicians to build $16M medical office

A $16 million medical office will be built on Wright State University's campus.

The project, tentatively slated to begin in March 2011 and be completed by 2012, will consolidate six Wright
State Physicians Group practices to a 66,000-square-foot, three-story facility at University Boulevard and
Raider Road on the northwest quadrant of the university's Boonshoft School of Medicine campus.
The goal of the project is to give patients a one-stop option for medical care and reduce costs for Wright
State Physicians Group. It also will provide clinical training opportunities for the university's medical students,
said Cindy Young, director of marketing for Wright State's Boonshoft School of Medicine.
Young said the physicians group's projected savings were not available.

Wright State Physicians Group, an affiliate of Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, has 17
Dayton-area offices and ranks as the third-largest physicians group in the region.

The new building will include physicians from six practices in the areas of sports medicine, orthopedics, family
medicine, geriatrics, neurology and dermatology. The total number of physicians who will practice in the
office is yet to be determined, Young said.

The facility also will provide a clinical office for training medical students and a research laboratory.
Rick Perales, a Greene County commissioner, said Wright State University always keeps academics at the
focus of its projects, and the facility will likely provide a valuable educational opportunity for its students.

Dayton-based Miller-Valentine Group has been chosen as the project's general contractor.

"There are still some hoops to go through before the building plan is finalized," Young said.
Acquiring a bond rating to the interest rate is one of the final pieces of paperwork yet to be completed, she
said.
