Jason's Deli Coming to Prime Vista Location
Miller-Valentine Group Announces New
Tenant for 823 Gervais Street
Columbia, S.C. - (October 28, 2010) The Vista will be the first location in Columbia for restaurant chain, Jason's Deli, developer Miller-Valentine Group has announced. The new restaurant, known for fresh, natural, and organic foods will locate at the site of the old Columbia Supply Building, occupying almost 6,000sq.ft. of the first floor.
Jason's Deli is headquartered in Beaumont, Texas, and has over 200 corporate and franchised locations, including Charleston, Greenville and Spartanburg. "We were seeking new markets that could maximize our brand recognition and Columbia was a natural fit," said Greg Messina, director of real estate for Jason's Deli. "As we dug into the demographics of the Vista area, the central business district and the University, the 823 Gervais St. location couldn't have been any better," he added. "Miller- Valentine Group has been tremendous to work with. Their construction team has created numerous efficiencies for us working from Texas. It's a relationship we continue to enjoy having."
The new location is expected to create anywhere from fifty to sixty full- and part-time jobs when construction is complete. Construction began in September and is expected to be complete in March 2011.
