Miller-Valentine Group To Unveil Prototype Design For FirstDay Federal Credit Union Offices
DAYTON, OHIO, (August 22, 2008) –Dayton-based Miller-Valentine Group will break
ground on a prototype branch design for FirstDay Federal Credit Union at 8:30 a.m.
August 26, at 6595 Brandt Pike in Huber Heights.
FirstDay Federal Credit Union, founded in 1935 in northern Montgomery County,
chose to build a new office in Huber Heights to offer its members a more convenient
location. The current Huber Heights office is located in a shopping plaza without drivethru
capabilities.
The Brandt Pike location was selected as the site to unveil the prototype branch
because it will give the current Huber Heights’ members better access to the office and
has a better potential to reach new members. Over the last twelve months, Miller-
Valentine Group and FirstDay Federal Credit Union reviewed traffic studies at several
high traffic points in Huber Heights to determine the optimal location for visibility and
convenient access for FirstDay Federal Credit Union’s members.
“Miller-Valentine Group went beyond traditional design/build and construction
services and provided us with a market analysis that we used to help us determine the

right direction for our brand,” said Lee Spivey, chief executive officer for FirstDay
Federal Credit Union. “The prototype design Miller-Valentine Group developed will
support our brand concept and provide direct benefits by increasing our visibility in
Huber Heights as well as expanding our member service capabilities.”
The prototype design developed by Miller-Valentine Group features a practical
three-lane drive-up entry to the tellers and ATM machine. By using this prototype design,
FirstDay Federal Credit Union will be able to keep design costs down for future
construction projects because the design will need only minor adjustments for each new
location.
“Our design helped us provide FirstDay Federal Credit Union with a costeffective
prototype that will be used for the credit union’s long-term growth plan,” said
Joe Kennedy, senior project manager, Miller-Valentine Group. “The convenient, freestanding
building will help FirstDay Federal Credit Union efficiently meet the needs of
its members.”
While Miller-Valentine Group has completed renovation projects with FirstDay
Federal Credit Union, this project is the first time the two organizations have collaborated
on a new construction project.
Construction on the Huber Heights office is expected to be completed by the end
of the year.
