Miami-Jacobs Career College Expands Presence  in Greater CincinnatiMiller-Valentine Renovates Space to house new 800 Student Facility

Dayton, OH (April 15, 2009) Miller-Valentine today announced it will renovate 32,000 square feet of space in the Two Crowne Point Building of the Crowne Point Business Park in Sharonville for Miami-Jacobs Career College's new Cincinnati area location. Miller-Valentine Construction will transform the former office space visible from I-75, about 40 miles south of Dayton, into a college facility, complete with 15 classrooms, four laboratories, a learning resource center, student lounges and administrative offices.

The new campus, fast-tracked to go from design to completion in just 16 weeks, will be open in time for the start of summer classes in mid-July.

"We knew what we needed in terms of student spaces when we first met with the group at MV Construction," states Darlene Waite, president of Miami-Jacobs Career College. "Our construction team took those ideas and helped us to discover additional opportunities. The level of design exceeded our expectations and still remained within our budget."

Miami-Jacobs Career College has been educating students in downtown Dayton for 150 years. Affiliated with the Cincinnati Academy of Court Reporting in downtown Cincinnati, the new campus in Sharonville will mark the school's expanded presence in Greater Cincinnati. In addition to court reporting and paralegal training, the new campus will offer programs in law enforcement, massage therapy and allied health professions.

The new career college will occupy the entire second floor and most of the first floor of the Two Crowne Point Building, which is located on the northbound side of I-75 in Sharonville. The highway visibility and access, along with the abundance of parking, were important factors in the selection of the Crowne Point Business Park as the Cincinnati location for Miami-Jacobs. The career college will have the capacity to accommodate 800 students with day and evening classes.

"We had the right location for Miami-Jacobs, but the key to the success of this renovation was finding ways to bring student-friendly spaces into the plans as well as accommodating the school's needs for technology, laboratories, general office space and other specialized uses," states Chris Duval, Director, Business Development.

MV Construction brings nearly five decades of commercial construction experience to its clients, including experience with educational facilities in Dayton and Cincinnati. In 2008, MV Construction received 12 awards for its renovation of the Over the Rhine warehouse that now houses the Cincinnati Art Academy.

The registration and financial aid office for Miami-Jacobs' new adult learning center currently is open in the neighboring Crowne Point One Building. Those offices will convert to the new space in mid-July.
